Ruby Cadillac, A Murdered Angel

i thought i'd give a quick update, since Ruby has been surfacing again, and people are wondering about a much over-due udpate...

I had been talking with a lawyer in Portland (a little upstate from us) but he didn't think it looked very promising, for the same reason the DA denied us twice... they are pitbulls.

so now we are on the search again, for a lawyer that actually has a little gusto.

as for Corona. she is doing better. guns terrify her, and David (being the avid gun-buff that he is) has to make sure she is out of the room before even opening the gun cabinet. poor Roo gets so upset even at the sight of a gun, shaking violently and cowering. it's sad to see, i know she realizes what they are (guns) and what they have done to impact her life. it sounds silly i know, and maybe i'm over thinking it.

Corona has her friend Kitty to keep her company, and it seems to have eased her mourning a little.

but they don't have the same connection that Ruby and Roo did. She and Corona were absolutely inseparable.

Kitty doesn't like being without Corona, but Corona doesn't mind being away from Kitty and often prefers it. They don't share a dog bed, and won't snuggle, though Kitty does try to sneak in while Roo is sleeping. and when Roo wakes up, she moves. it's sad. Corona is still hurting and you can see it.

been struggling to keep things updated, so i apologize. i'm 8 months pregnant with my first, been a little distracted lately ;)

thank you again, everyone, for all you support, artwork, and kind words. i'd be lost without you.

I have you bookmarked so I can keep up with the updates and all. I'm saddened you have yet to find someone with the guts to go through with a case, but keep it up. Someone will come along!

I know what it's like to lose a pet- luckily not under such cruel circumstances- they truly are family, and the loss is just as great as any human. I'm glad you've found one step towards closure.

Finally, congratulations on the upcoming birth! What a beautiful addition to your already lovely family!

I have been viewing your website for a while now.
I am forwarding info on 2 attorneys who may be interested in your case. Kate Neiswender is an attorney who is currently involved in a lawsuit against our local animal shelter here in Bakersfield, Ca, regarding their abuse and neglect of animals held within their facility. Kate's e-mail address is kmn@inreach.com Charlotte Laws is an attorney who deals with cases involving animal rights. Her info can be found by searching her name on Google. I hope this helps. You should continue to seek justice for what has happened to you. As an owner of 3 pitbulls, I know the public hysteria that most owners of these wonderful dogs, face. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Vera
