Ruby Cadillac, A Murdered Angel

March 05, 2005

A word from Pistol

(Note from Megalion: I've been going back and cross-posting Pistol's posts from HofH on LJ to make it easier for people to follow the story.)

I am so deeply touched at the words, pictures and ideas this community has been able to provide for me. it helps ease the pain knowing that I have this whole family here to back me up. A whole family who loves Ruby, and wants to bring her killer to justice.

I want to thank every single person individually, but after all the mail I have received, it would take me years. Thank you all so very much for your support, empathy, and help!

I wish this guy knew what he got himself into. He fucked with the wrong pitbull momma. and now, I have this crew of hundreds of people, who want revenge just as much as i do. wouldn't that be a sight? having all of this community, their friends, family members, and every person who has been touched by Ruby's story to come storming down the road, stand in his front lawn, and give him what he deserves. he has no idea.

HELL HATH NO FURY LIKE THAT OF A PITBULL OWNER.

there are so many good things in the works for Ruby from you guys right now, and I love all of the ideas! Painting and drawings, fundraisers, donations, web sites, legal advice, and the things that you have already given us... a paid account for Hounds_of_Hell (thank you <lj user="justj">!), pictures and memorials, stories, and a Pit Bull Prayer... the list goes on and on. I can't even begin to thank this community. Through the tears, I am finding strength through you.

I'm so lucky to have family here. What would I do without you.

David came up with this idea, after all this court drama is settled. What if we all wrote to this guy and told him what we really think about him. HUNDREDS of letters, pouring into his mailbox, flooding his house, and reminding him of a life he should have never have been graced by. a life he stole. I <b>will</b> be making sure that he knows what everyone here thinks, and when the smoke clears, and just when he thinks it's safe again, we'll really storm him.

Thank you to everyone, whether you are a pit bull owner, a passerby, a cat owner, or just a aquaitence. THANK YOU ALL. everyone's words have helped me and my family. every single person has made a difference, and helped the pain ease a little.

I have a video clip of Ruby I want to post, any one able to give me directions on how to do so? I would love to show you guys, but I don't have the time to do the research on "how to" right now. Thank you!!
Megalion's Note: The videos will be uploaded here in a few days

As for my other little girl...

Corona came home last night. Her vet bill was very very small ($125) but the Vet was a real asshole. She has a very small hole from the bullet where it only went through muscle (go pit bull) and didn't break any bones. they were worried about nerve damage, and thought her leg might have to be amputated, but this morning she was doing her best to try to use it again (A VERY GOOD SIGN!!). Health-wise, Corona is looking to recover well.

on the other hand, She is so extremly devistated and depressed. a small effort tail wag says she's glad you came to see her, but you can tell by her eyes that she knows she will never see Ruby again. imagine what this dog had to bare witness to... her only "sister", her soul-mate, being shot in the face and dropping dead before her very eyes, then being shot herself.

this killing doesn't only affect Ruby's owners. It affects her companion even more.

As for the case. I still have paperwork to fill out with my AC guys (Animal Control), & the Sherriff's department came out that night, but is no longer involved. I sent what evidence I had over this morning, and will be taking more pictures, drawing maps, and getting as much information as I can to cover everything. It has been quite exhausting, but I want to keep pushing this as much as I can. For Ruby's sake. i'll let you know where things go when the dust settles a little.

we are looking into the possibility of a standing-dog-point-blank-shooting. in other words, we do realize that the shot could have been taken while she wasn't even running, let alone "about to attack him" like this guy was saying. i want to press for forensics testing, considering we have the state facility right in our valley.

we don't want to get the media involved in the case right now, just in case. and besides, i don't want the press to go "oh another pitbull attack" and then have people freak out, our local paper is very biased and wouldn't do us much good if they got ahold of the story. we'll keep the pit bulls out of the press for a while. i just don't want it to backfire on the Pit Bull name.

I'm so proud to know everyone in this community, and to hear everyone's support for my girls. And if you could do Ruby a favor today... hug your dog. My regret with Ruby, is that I didn't get a chance to play with her one last time, give her kisses and snuggle, and just enjoy her presence before she was taken away from me. I took it for granted that she would be there when I got home, just like always.
